The Falkland Islands are a bird lovers paradise and should be very high on my bird watchers list. Personally, I prefer marine mammals when it comes to interacting with wildlife in their natural habitat but when it comes to this region of the world I am blown away.
Besides numerous penguin species inhabiting this island group but also Black Browed Albatross nest in certain areas. These tends to mean a close encounter with a stunning bird species. Let alone if you are lucky enough to witness the young chicks on their nests waiting patiently for their parents along with their next meal.
