Life on the salmon spawning rivers in Bear Country is something of a hectic world. The salmon arrive and not too long after the bears investigate looking to gorge themselves on salmon after salmon. Food is vitally important for the animals when the food is plentiful and even more vital when you have 3 little ones depending on you like this mother bear.
Not only does the mother have to find food, teach her youngsters the ropes and nurse them but she will always have to protect them from other bears and predators that lurk around the same country. In my eyes, that is beyond impressive.
