2020 has been quite the year and personally I am ready for 2021 to start, which I believe a lot of you Hivers out here have similar thoughts. For the past 10 wish years I have been interacting with wild orca almost daily off Vancouver Island. Due to the current world state/global pandemic I temporarily have re located back to east coast of Australia.

As stunning and beautiful as South-East QLD is and how much I prefer the weather right now compared to Canada, as they are quickly approaching winter, there are no populations of orca that frequent these waters. Due to this I have found myself constantly flicking through old photos and reminding myself of events leading up to individual photos. Just like this one below, a few pods of Bigg's orca were socialising and as they turned and came towards my vessel, two of them spy hopped together. This occurred only about meters in front of the vessel. Still can't believe I got this shot...
