curious little creatures these guys! It seems to be that they are in a constant state of curiosity, looking for their next problem solving challenge. Whether that challenge present itself as a fast moving penguin that it feels compelled to chase or a seal on an ice floe that it really wants to play with in the water. The apex predators of the ocean do seem to enjoy spending time on such things.
One of the things that always makes me smile when it comes to encounters with Orca is their constant curiousity when boats/ships are nearby, as they always seem to be as curious and interested in observing us, as we are in observing their behaviour. It is not uncommon to have these animals stick their heads up out of the water just a little bit higher in order to get a sneak peak of what we are doing onto of the surface. As they continue on their day with their family in search of another fun problem solving situation.
