After spending the past few summers working and exploring along the Antarctic peninsula I am still stumped at times about how penguins manage to get to certain places. I am sure you are aware that their ability to carry themselves on land is comical at best. However, it never stops them from trying to get to some places that seem impossible for those short legs to carry them to.
Furthermore, it never usually seems to be just one of them in these difficult to reach to places. There always seems to be a group of them all in the same place, as if it was a race or challenge set by one of them to see if they could all reach this location. I will never know what goes on in their heads but they are fun to watch and photograph.
