Well, as the world is still in a state of craziness and mayhem I thought it would be nice to bring a little bit of cuteness to your day in the form of a baby fur seal from South Georgia Island. This fellow was born only a few hours, if that, prior to the photograph. The large furry rock to the right of the little baby is mum, whom will spend the next week or so nursing the little guy. Followed by a few extra weeks of both nursing, returning the coastal waters to forage then returning to the little one to nurse once again.
After about 3 months of parental care, the little guy will be on his own in the big bad world. With hopes to survive to maturity, which takes a few years in order to attempt to breed little adorable seals of his own.
“Once wedded to Nature there is no divorce - separate her you may and hide yourself amongst the flesh-pots of London, but the wild will keep calling and calling forever in your ears. You cannot escape the ‘little voices’."
