Typically, a mother bear will give birth to one or two cubs but at times it is also not uncommon for her to give birth to 3, 4 or even 5 cubs. 5 cubs is a little rare but has been documented over the years. However, 3 cubs at once is quite an achievement and a little bit of stress on the mother to feed teach and protect all 3 curious little cubs in a dangerous world.
Sadly, it is quite common for her to lose one or more cubs during the first summer but from the size of these cubs it looks very promising that they will all be ok. Here the 3 little ones can be seen running along the shoreline. In all honesty, mum swam across the river where they eagerly waited then a branch snapped in the background and they ran like their lives depended on it.
