Just a little bit of sewing but just wanna share.

Meet our new baby cat, Coco. She is a Maine Coon Tabby, black with marbled chocolate pattern, 10 weeks old, and already showing great affection. She's very smart, interactive and very playful. She loves my foraging basket which inspired me to create something special.

The material is I think a very soft jersey cotton, bought from the indoor market in Birmingham, was being sold as excess cut for 50 pence each, so I bought this stripy red fabric thinking of making it a blouse for myself, but it turned out to be a cat bed cover which i really don't mind.

Here's how I made it. You probably have a better idea than I do, as I'm not a tailoring expert. Feel free to suggest.

I cut the material into two portions, just the right size to cover the basket. One for the bottom and the other as a drape for the top.

I put a wool pad for extra softness. Wool helps regulate body temperature, keeping the kitty warm when it's cold and cool when it's warm.

Then, I put the other piece over the basket handle and secured it with a few stitches.

then I put the other piece over the basket handle and secure with few stiches.

I finished crocheting the ribbon I had started before. It added a nice touch.

Throughout the process, the kitty was right there with me, making things a bit tricky but also showing her love for the project.

I tied both ends and attached a ribbon to the base of the handle. I hung a little toy, which she played with and immediately dozed off to sleep.

And yes, she could not help it. It must be really comfy for her.

Have a wonderful day.
