A lovely Caturday, and I've been picking dandelion leaves for a relative who needed them, and Blu happily came along too.
It was such a warm day that Blu wanted to sit in my basket, but he is quite a heavy kitty, and I needed the basket for my leaves.
So instead, he walked (actually, he was running around) beside me like any other four-legged little explorer.
We passed through a wheat field, and the wheat looked almost ready for harvest.
Around this area, the grass had all dried up from the heat,
although the dandelion leaves were green, they weren’t in season, so they were much harder to find.
After running through the fields, Blu’s little adventure finally caught up with him. His tongue was out, and he was panting heavily, so I knew it was time for a rest.
I felt sorry for him, so I gave him a hug and carried him for a while.
When we found a cooler spot in the shade, we stopped and rested together for a little while.
And we found a spot with lots of much greener, fresher-looking dandelion leaves.
After we finished picking, we sat down again, and I could tell Blu really needed the break from the heat. He seemed grateful for the cool shade and the chance to relax.
Of course, he got a well-deserved treat afterwards for being such a good boy.
