What a beautiful day today! The sun wasn't too harsh, and there was a lovely freshness in the air. For me, it's the best time to be outdoors.
I woke up late after a lazy weekend. Sometimes we need that extra sleep boost!
I quickly put a whole frozen chicken on to gently steam before heading out for my run, knowing I鈥檇 be absolutely starving when I got back.
During the run, the sky was clear, I always enjoy running up and down these hilly roads. It also gives me time to spot anything new. I鈥檝e been really good at not stopping to pick anything up, though usually my runs turn into a full foraging session, lol.
Along the way, there are plenty of wheat fields, their grains are swelling as they develop.
Around them are wildflowers like poppies, gently blown by the wind.
The surroundings have become so pretty, with plenty of flowers blooming along the way.
This time of year is when many medicinal flowers, like meadowsweet, are at their best.
Some early flowers are starting to turn to seed, like this hogweed, and will soon be ready to be collected as spice.
There are plenty of blackberry flowers everywhere, which will soon turn into berries.
Near home, I came across a cherry tree that was just too tempting to resist. I couldn't help imagining a delicious cherry pie!
As soon as I got home, I grabbed my basket and went back to pick some cherries. Most of them were high up, so I could only reach the lower branches.
But I managed to gather enough for a delicious cherry pie!
Then I went home and enjoyed the steamed chicken brunch!
Hope you all had a wonderful Sunday.
