One of my favorite places to go for outdoor adventures is Backbone State Park in Strawberry Point, Iowa. With scenic views, hiking trails of all abilities, climbing, kayaking, and winding streams, you can feel the spirit of the native peoples who once populated the area. Cabins, shelters, camping, cave exploration, playgrounds for the kids, trout fishing, and creek play are just a few of the other amenities Backbone has to offer. Fun for the whole family or for the solo hiker, Backbone is one of those places where you can spiritually connect with nature and come away renewed and refreshed.
