I've heard of "White Privilege", but I can officially say that it's happened to me. I saw that a company was hiring so I applied. I spoke to one manager and she said I'm not the hiring manager but give me your name & I'll pass it on. The next day I spoke to the store manager who told me that they weren't hiring at this particular store but when they do she'll let me know.
A week later the same store had a job fair. The area manager said they weren't hiring but check out the nearby stores. I went to those stores who said .... you guessed it...we aren't hiring.

I go in the same store today and there is a NEW FACE!! JUST HIRED LAST WEEK!!?😠😠😠
I applied last week and I got hired the same week she says... Yes she was white.
I left the store crying. Not because I didn't get the job, but because I had a seizure & stressed myself out knowing DAMN WELL I wasn't going to get the job 😑😑
Every Black person I talk to out here in this city tells me the same. 😣😣😣
I moved here because I needed to be able to raise my boys, to know who's around my boysn who's influencing them. The rush & stress of the city was too much!😔😔
I refuse to live off of the government who doesn't want me here anyway, my healthcare is crap. Minimum wage or even 8.00 an hour still isn't enough to take care of one person let alone myself and 2 growing boys that are always hungry 😟😟😟
