And what an episode this one was! Each week, we here at The People's Guild get confirmation of what a great community Splinterlands has. The community is brimming with interesting people...and everyone has a story to tell.
Bobaphet is a man of many talents, podcaster, English teacher, rapper, archaelogist, independent researcher, author, and explorer, who is focused on pre-colonial contact times.
However, it was a question that Bjangles asked that opened us up to a whole new different world. He asked Boba to talk us through his time in Archaelogy.
I personally have had a huge interest in history since I was a kid, and I was always behind a book reading about the Romans, ancient Egypt, myths and legends, you name it. So, when he started talking about this time of his life I was fascinated.
He was inspired to venture down the road of Archaelogy after reading one of my favorite authors and historian, Graham Hancock. Graham is seen as controversial to many, but to some, he is someone who is seeking the truth and trying to connect the dots, that other historians consistently try and debunk.
Boba then brings us on a magical history tour that was for me mind blowing!
He starts by discussing Darwinism and the missing links in the human evolutional story and then continues by talking about his work with the Nunga people, the indigenous people, at Rottnest Island. As a result of the work he did on this island, the Australian government deemed it sacred to the Nunga people, and Boba is officially the last white person to step foot on it.
His time with the Nunga people truly opened his eyes to what we are taught about in school and what we are never taught.
And this is what life should be, making a difference, right? It also highlights the importance of how valuable real life experience is. Books are amazing, and we are so fortunate to read documentation from history. However, it can also be argued that real life experience is also so valuable.
Many things we read about from history have been written for a reason, to tell the truth, but also to bend the truth for someone's own agenda. Many things we read are just theories, that have somehow become the truth.
What I'm trying to get at is, we have to get out there, talk to people, explore places for yourself....the truth is out there!!!
Oh yeah, Bobaphet also mentioned a place called Tartaria. Heard of it? Well, we hadn't, but that's a whole new rabbit hole to explore and one that I have personally jumped down since our conversation.
I'm only scratching the surface on Tartaria and all I'm gonna say is...cover me I'm going in!
