Good day, Hivers! Let me share the beautiful place my friend and I jogged last Monday.
Jogging is one of the simple ways to exercise our body as it requires almost every part of our body to move. It is also a low-cost exercise that anyone can try by wearing simple clothing and comfortable running shoes.
Jogging has always been a part of my lifestyle, I find comfort in it and it feeds my soul. There were times when I found myself smiling from ear to ear because of the great feeling of running.
It is just that college happened where I could not prioritize fitness and focus more on my studies. Before, I would wake up every morning and do 5 km in the nearby rice fields in my hometown but now, I just stay at home almost all the time.
Anyway, I'll cut to the chase. Our Monday afternoon run all happened when my friend messaged me that he would go jog at Camarines Sur Watersports Complex or CWC as we call it. It's only one jeepney ride away from me so I agreed to meet up with him at the convenience store near CWC.
When we arrived here, I saw some people swimming at the lake. Probably training for a triathlon. Can you spot them?
Camarines Sur Watersports Complex is known for its wide space to accommodate locals and tourists for their watersports activities. Along with that, they also have this wide oval that people can jog to. There is also enough space for people to have a picnic on the sides of it and a handmade lake in the middle of the oval where people can swim and paddle.
There were also individuals and small groups that had already started jogging when I stepped out of my friend's car. For me, it's always a good idea to have someone that you can run with because they give that extra push whenever you are already feeling tired, But as for me, I got left out of my friend because my stamina just couldn't handle running long distance. Hahaha!
This is already my second time jogging here, what I like about this place is the view of the sunset. The warm touch of the setting sun on my face and the reflection of the light on the water just looks and feels nice to me.
This was my face at the start of the run. Still looking fresh not thinking what I will look after.
During the start of our jog, there were these tall grasses with white stuff on them that distracted me. It looked so nice during the sunset and there were also abandoned vehicles in there that gave the view a feel of the "wild Texas" as they described it in the cartoons.
After quite some time of jogging, I decided to just brisk walk and took some stops in between to take some photos.
These were some of the paddle boats that can be rented out if you want to paddle along the wide space of the manmade lake.
Before, there used to be an inflatable island here where people of all ages could try out. As far as I can remember, the Goin Bulilit cast once featured the place.
This was around 6 pm already. My friend was still jogging at this hour while I just sat down and took some photos. I like that there are lights around the place and there are also CCTV cameras set up for everyone's safety and security.
Here's me after the jog, quite tired and drenched in sweat. I don't know but the sweat makes my skin look good here. Hahahaha! After a while, my friend told me that were going to leave already.
I might not have been able to run like my friend did, but it was a very fulfilling day for me.
At the end of the day, I was able to jog and walk for 2.12 miles and was able to do 6,301 steps. Indeed, a fulfilling day for me.
All photos are mine.
