OLD BARN № 047

It's always a bit fascinating to see something old and something new, side-by-side, such as the large electricity transmission tower and a barn, symbolic of rural farm life. Tall towers such as this support cables that can carry electricity over long distances between the power-generation facilities and substations that service local areas.

This barn, on the other hand, services a local area only... 😁

This barn's blue color is almost unique — although the next barn I will show is also blue — as most barns in this area are either unpainted, weathered wood, or else painted red or white. It's also interesting in that the drive-bay and hay-door are offset to one side rather than being in the middle.

Also note that the gate is constructed with ample room at the bottom, so it can be opened and closed even if the grasses in the field are rather high. I think that was a rather clever design!
