Hi Everyone!
I have a traditional dessert from Indonesia, from East Kalimantan (Borneo) to be exact, and it is called Pisang Gapit.
Pisang is Banana in Indonesian, while Gapit is not an Indonesian word, but it comes from a language of a tribe in Kalimantan, known as Banjar - it means pressed (together).
The traditional way of making this dessert is by pressing the banana on a grill basket which then it is grilled on a pit of charcoal (charcoal briquettes).
My recipe is just the simplest way, using broiler of my oven....because....Winter 馃ぃToo goddamn cold to even open the door to go out, let alone to the backyard to start the griller, which also.... buried in snow 馃ぃ
1 bag saba bananas
1 can coconut milk
2 screwpine leaf
3/4 c brown sugar
A pinch of salt
