Greetings everyone,
I have been getting busier these couple of weeks with several stuff so I am having less time to play the game and the weekend rank games at an earlier time. So almost like last week, I only have about 19h to complete the whole 25 games, and get the maximum rewards possible for me at the same time.
So after thinking for quite a while about what am I going to play, I figured out that the Ramp Magic that I usually win most in will take me a lot of time to finish the games, so I need much faster aggro decks. First thing that came into mind was the hidden rush, but after realizing that I do not really know how to play this archetype decks, I did not want to lose a lot of matches this week. So I went for a style that is very fast to end the game, and at the same time I might be able to snatch a decent amount of wins with which is the War Aggro Relic deck.
As the name suggests, this playstyle heavily relies on your relic to either control the game if needed or mainly get a lot of face damage in and end the game as fast as possible. With a lot of relics existing and buffs for them and your creatures, you have a lot of damage to hit face with and deal a huge amount of damage. I will be explaining deeper the concept behind this deck so let's jump right into it:
The Deck
As you can notice, this deck have a lot of relic which is pretty common sense for an aggro relic deck :p. But not all of these relics are mainly there, two of them are replacements to cards I do not own which I will mention later on in the post.
So the goal behind this deck is to use your relics to get a lot of face damage in with using the Sharpen as an amazing buff, and using your creatures to either clear and control board slowly, or most importantly whenever possible deal a lot of face damage in with Sharpen or Another Round as another amazing buffs!
It might be a little bit weird playing this deck for the first time, but getting used to it should make it a little bit less strange.
With a lot of card draw or magic decks in general on the loose now, I wonder how will this deck perfome. But the main reason I chose it is because it is so fast and can help me get through my 25 matches before the time ends.
So now I will be explaining the crucial and some better cards for this deck, as well as a few tips for anyone interested in trying it:
Important Cards
Sharpen
To be expected by everyone, this spell can buff your relics immensely, as well as one of your creatures, which can help you get tons of face damage in and help you end it as soon as possible just like you intend to. And since the deck relies heavily on relics, this cards is irreplacable to say the least!
Vicious Rend
You might not have expected it, but this simple card is huge in this deck! You can not believe how many times you might need that extra 3 or 6 damage to put an end to the game but you just can not get them in. Even with god power sometimes you might not be able to reach the finishing line and here comes the shining knight! This card also serves as a surprise factor because most of the times your opponent might not be expecting it and boom you finish them off out of nowhere. So a very valuable 6 guaranteed damage to hit!
Enduring Shield
Among all the relics you have, not to dimish the value of other relics, but this one is the most important one of them all, because not only it can server as a face damage dealer with the Sharpen, but it can help you get early advantage onn which is great to be able to hit more face with your creature and be able to deal even more damage not only with relics. Now this all depends on what you need most you can sometimes hit face with it and just protect your creatures, and then clear board or hit face, or you can even use it to clear a creature and protect one of yours to hit face with it is all situational.
Just keep in mind to prioritize face damage in case the game won't be turned around if you did not control board.
Tips for This Deck
Starting hand priority
There are always good starting hands to get, but there is always the perfect one that you have to always try to get and mulligan for. In this case it will be the Enduring Shield. Try to always search for this relic as it is a very volatile card for the early game that can serve multiple purposes, and also it is less valuable later on so getting it at a bad time might make things a bit tougher and slower for you. So try as much as possible to search for it and get it on the start. A good starting hand would look something like this:
Replacing one of the relics in the deck
So normally with a deck called Aggro Relic deck, you would expect to see lot of relics in it, which is the case here; however, there is one of the relics that is better off removed and replaced by another card that might bring similar and a bit more value and in this case that would be the Ramshackle Hatchet. I actually added it to this deck because I did not have any better alternative, but I feel like the deck have an excessive amount of relics now and that this card can be replaced by a better creature maybe. A better sub might be one of these cards in my opinion:
Do not waste unnecessary strength
The key to this deck as we mentioned before is to get a lot of face damage in as soon as possible. We also said that sometimes you might want to clear board in certain cases and control it to avoid the worst. However, in most cases, if you had a strength buffed creature with any of the available cards that you have, and the enemy has a strong creature on board, it is always better to go for the face damage and not waste those buffed strength on killing a creature because this will get you a lot more closer to finish the game. And remember, you have a lot of relics which will probably help you to finish off the game soon! And ideal case would be having the Echoing Fury to get the face damage and then kill of this creature with the twin strike, and then summon a new one on board if possible for more face damage next round!
Conclusion
Have a little bit of experience with this deck, and with the magic decks all around, I do not know how this deck might perform to be honest. But since I am very low on time I felt like this is the best and most experienced option for me. I am lookinng for somewhere around maybe the 15 wins hopefully to get a legendary pack since we are getting closerand closer to the DO end line, I want to get more of those leggies!
I certainly hope I will not get a lot of bad starting hands because as you would expect getting a tiny bit around with this deck might proof so tough to comeback and the game is pretty much over at this point. But still I will either win fast or lose fast as it is wanted!
Wish me luck on these 25 games and I hope you liked this deck, be sure if you never played relic war before, it is a bit unique and very fun to play as well! Hope everyone had or will have a great weekend event, and stay tuned to see the results of this deck performance this week and I will se you on the next one!
Mad Love, Peace out <3
