Sham Ki Chai (Evening Tea)
Anyone dropping by for a cup of tea with me ?
For the first time ever I tried to explore out door food photography thanks to thanks to an old friend of mine. Honestly, had it not been for her and her mum, I wouldn't have even given it a thought.
I wanted to keep it pretty simple as I had to carry my gear, food and props to their apartment lawn where I actually shot this. It's evident that this is a natural light setup.
I was eyeing this gorgeous sunset light, kept observing the location and light for 2 days in prior and finally on day 3 I went for the shoot. I also wanted to capture some steam with the backlight but it was windy and couldn't get the desired outcome but if you look closely, you will definitely catch some steam in the cup.
We Indians like our tea with a bit of spice in it, This spicy tea is cooked slowly so that the flavours seep out and spill into the hot water. Then milk and sugar is added to it and is served boiling hot in a tiny glass. Everywhere I look, people keep sipping chai. Indian's tend drink tea at least three times a day, and I'm pretty sure many, many more times than they say they do haha. It's basically a ritual of sorts, Not a single day goes by without consuming tea.
