Daily Life Story: Buying Stocks for the Week in A Public Market
After clocking out of work, we headed to the public market before going home to buy some groceries and stock up for the week. We walked towards the fresh section where they sell meats and different kinds of seafood. Since it was already late in the afternoon, there were only a few people around buying. The vendors were still open and actively selling their items to everyone, and we also checked their products as we passed by to see if they had anything we needed.
We headed to the fish section and looked for something we could eat for dinner. The fish and other seafood were still fresh. We bought 1 kilo of squid since we wanted to have some calamares for tonight. The vendor gave us a discount since the squids were almost sold out. We paid the exact amount and then started checking out the other stalls.
We went to the vegetable section to buy cabbage, eggs, and other vegetables. We checked their prices per stall, and bought where we saw the cheaper price posted.
We bought 2 kilos of cabbage, and then bought 10 eggs - we could make a good omelet from these two ingredients.
After buying squid, vegetables, and eggs, we headed home since it was almost dark already.
We traveled with our motorbike for about 15 minutes before we reached home. We were so excited to have some omelet and calamares, so we headed straight to the kitchen. But before that, we felt privileged to be able to buy our own food and stock at home. We truly enjoyed buying at the public market, and we could go back there to buy more, like frozen goods and meats, but it's for another day.
