This male peacock was in the process of gaining the attention of a potential mate. This shot was taken within a nature reserve where the birds roamed freely. This persistent male spent quite some time attempting to whoo the lady of his dreams. He certainly wasn't threatened by the presence of our family viewing his mesmerising display. At the very moment of this shot he was gazing down towards the quiet little lady, who seemed to be slowly warming to the efforts of this Peacock Romeo. I'm not sure if they became an item, but maybe we can find out the next time we visit the nature reserve. Perhaps next time we will see them sat under a tree together with Romeo singing a ballad to his fair mistress. Perhaps Romeo is still looking for his Juliet?
