It's been more than a month since the lockdown happened and all the offices started closing and enforced working from home. To be honest I was really excited about it (not the pandemic thing) and for a couple of days, it was going great. Work was getting done super fast, the communication was great and there were frequent team meetings and all those stuff.
The most difficult part of working from home is being disciplined. Your bed is just a few steps away from the table and you can't stop yourself from laying down every once in a while and then you end up taking a nap. Then there is Youtube. You start watching a video, then Youtube starts recommending all these things you'll probably want to watch. Youtube is really smart that way and I end up wasting half of my day.
It gets even worse when your teammates are also doing the same and basically we all end up sprinting all night before the deadline. At times there were lots of heat, arguments, and stress, it was chaotic. Not fun at all.
It's a good thing that I am more productive during the night. No distractions, no noises, the only sound are from my mechanical keyboard. Boy, they are loud at night. At least I'm able to get my work done.
Maybe we aren't used to having so much freedom and time at hand. Admittedly, things got a bit better after a few weeks. I started organizing all the tasks I needed to complete first thing in the morning with my coffee and try my best to follow them. I submit the work for the review and start browsing HIVE feeds, I still take naps though. 馃槈
I heard lots of people getting fired during the pandemic and it sucks. I was for sure our company was going to do the same because of how poorly they were doing financially even before the pandemic. So far they haven't, but if you guys have any offers I'm open (not really).
I'm also getting really out of shape during this lockdown. I do not cook great so most of the time I end up eating junk. Also, I can't do hard exercises because of my leg injury and I sit on my chair all day. If this keeps up I'm gonna need a bigger chair.
Honestly, I miss going to the office and someday if I quit my job and started freelancing, the things I learned during the lockdown will come in handy.

Have a great day. :)
