Birthdays feels more like a checkpoint these days rather than something to be celebrated for.
Today is my birthday, and I'm writing this from the office. Didn't even get to take a leave 😄. Work has been pretty packed lately and the workforce is a bit short, so here I am spending my birthday behind a desk.
But honestly, that's okay.
Life has been pretty nice lately. Peaceful, for the most part.
Sure, there are pressures. Work pressure, future pressure, the usual "am I doing enough?". But most of those things fade away after spending some time with friends and family. Somehow they always remind you what's actually important.
Looking back, this year wasn't too bad at all. In fact I had too much fun.
I got to spend more time on my hobbies. Picked up the guitar again and spent countless hours learning songs and recording. Played basketball whenever I got the chance. Ate lots of good food. Tried new things. Traveled to a few places. Met new people. Made some new friends.
Not every day was exciting, but there were plenty of good moments scattered throughout the year.
One thing I'm really looking forward to this year is launching my own business. I've been working on it for quite a while now, slowly building things in the background. I hope to quit my job in few years from now. It's something I've wanted for a long time, and hopefully this will be the year I finally make it happen.
So Yeah, Just feeling grateful.
Grateful for the people around me, grateful for another year, and grateful that life is moving forward even when it doesn't always feel like it.
So cheers to one more year.
