What an eventful weekend. Today I picked up 15 face masks for about $20, enjoyed strawberry lemonade, and made a kite in the park with a design studio building their community.

It seems there are many parallels within life, like a mirror facing another mirror.

The hard crashing symbols of this track aren't helping me write as well as music from this movie soundtrack does, so I'll switch it to continue this stream of consciousness.

I wrote here about both photography and the need for business sense to be a professional photographer. I think largely, to be a professional at all, especially a professional artist, business sense is a must.

I quote Robin Perry again, for emphasis:

Without business sense, you will never be successful. If photography is just your hobby, then for heaven's sake stop deluding yourself and earn your living doing something else. If photography is your way of earning the bread on the table, then recognize that being a business person is part of the total professional photographer.

So I leveraged business intelligence from Harvard, to better understand how to grow communities. To save you from a retelling of that article, I'll observe that the article isn't the only relevant reading material to move me.

I do my best to inform myself, in order to grow into exactly what I wish to be. You'd read a book on tomatoes to grow tomatoes, right? In practice, maybe you don't need the book, or don't want to write questions ahead of time, or you know enough without needing to read anything at all.

Yet, you can always grow. To know more, and know better, is to do more and do better. So I am grateful that within perhaps 7 days, I have titles which include, but aren't limited to:

  • Marie Kondo and Scott Sohenshein's Joy At Work
  • Robin Perry's Creative Professional Photography
  • Robin Perry's Creative Color Photography

I believe it truly plays a part in my ability to share, think, and create. For that, I would never change. Books help me Go Turbo.
