🇪🇸 ~ Estas son las ultimas fotos que pude tomar de Apolo así, en mi regazo, después de una visita de emergencia con el veterinario por un grave obseso infectado en su patita (aproximadamente en abril-mayo de 2024); ese día al volver a casa bajo los efectos de la anestesia, todos los gatos en casa (Galatea, Enki, Kamui y Felipe) reaccionaron de una forma increíblemente hostil cuando olfatearon a Apolo, jamás los había visto tan enojados y rápidamente la situacion escalo a niveles peligrosos: Todos al mismo tiempo trataron de atacar a Apolo.

🇺🇸 ~ These are the last pictures I was able to take of Apolo like this, in my lap, after an emergency visit to the vet for a serious obsessive infection in his paw (approximately April-May 2024); that day when I returned home under the effects of anesthesia, all the cats at home (Galatea, Enki, Kamui and Felipe) reacted in an incredibly hostile way when they sniffed Apolo, I had never seen them so angry and quickly the situation escalated to dangerous levels: All at the same time they tried to attack Apollo.

Afortunadamente pudimos contenerlos a todos, y guardar a Apolo en una habitación de la casa para que se recuperara con todas las comodidades. Pense que el incidente había sido provocado porque el olor de otros animales se había adherido a la cesta donde transportamos a Apolo a la clínica veterinaria, pensé que con los días todo volvería a la normalidad, porque hasta ese momento todos los gatos en casa eran muy cariñosos los unos con los otros, Apolo especialmente cuido a los trillizos (Enki, Felipe y Kamui) cuando eran pequeños y los 4 dormían juntos y tomaban siestas hechos una sola maraña de colas y patitas por la tarde... pero eso no pasó, los gatos en casa, todos, nunca volvieron a tratar a Apolo con confianza o cariño.

Fortunately we were able to contain them all, and keep Apollo in a room of the house so that he could recover with all the comforts. I thought that the incident had been provoked because the smell of other animals had adhered to the basket where we transported Apolo to the veterinary clinic, I thought that with the days everything would return to normal, because until that moment all the cats at home were very affectionate with each other, Apolo especially took care of the triplets (Enki, Felipe and Kamui) when they were small and the 4 of them slept together and took naps made a single tangle of tails and paws in the afternoon... but that didn't happen, the cats at home, all of them, never treated Apollo with trust or affection again.

Apolo en los días siguientes tambien sufrio un cambio en su personalidad, ya no era el gatito dulce y súper pegajoso que siempre quería ser llevado en brazos y amaba ser besado en sus mejillas, Apolo ahora estaba alerta todo el tiempo, malhumorado y desarrollo la tendencia de morder a la más mínima provocación; mi familia, mis vecinos y yo no supimos entender las señales y tampoco entendíamos qué había pasado entre los gatos, pero todos queremos muchísimo a Apolo y nunca perdimos la esperanza de que volvería "a ser el" en algún momento, asi que todos esperamos con cariño y paciencia, entendiendo y aceptando sus nuevos límites y procurando minimizar las fuentes o detonantes de su mal humor.

Apolo in the following days also suffered a change in his personality, he was no longer the sweet and super clingy kitty that always wanted to be carried and loved to be kissed on his cheeks, Apolo was now alert all the time, grumpy and developed the tendency to bite at the slightest provocation; my family, my neighbors and I didn't understand the signs and we didn't understand what had happened between the cats, but we all love Apolo very much and we never lost hope that he would “be him” again at some point, so we all waited with love and patience, understanding and accepting his new limits and trying to minimize the sources or triggers of his bad moods.

Sé que no está bien comparar y lamentarte por el pasado, pero hoy recuerdo con mucha tristeza cómo era mi Apolo antes de enfermarse de su patita, porque su personalidad en ese tiempo era única y muy especial, su apodo era "gatito heladito" por su pelaje blanco con color caramelo y personalidad docil y amorosa te recordaba a eso, a un helado dulce (yo todavía le digo "gatito heladito" pero los vecinos le dicen "terreneitor").

I know it's not right to compare and regret about the past, but today I remember with sadness how my Apolo was before he got sick of his paw, because his personality at that time was unique and very special, his nickname was “kitty ice cream” for his white fur with caramel color and docile and loving personality reminded you of that, a sweet ice cream (I still call him “kitty ice cream” but the neighbors call him “terminator”).

Hoy es un gato 100% saludable y por si te lo preguntas, sí, está vacunado y esterilizado, que por cierto pensamos que con la esterilización "se calmaría" pero su personalidad actual podrias describirla como "muy masculino, intrépido, dominante y voluble".

Today he is a 100% healthy cat and in case you are wondering, yes, he is vaccinated and neutered, which by the way we thought that neutering would “calm him down” but his current personality could be described as “very masculine, fearless, dominant and fickle”.

Con su temperamento actual ya no puedo acostarlo sobre mi pecho ni acercarle mi cara de esta manera porque sería muy peligroso, pero tengo estas fotos para recordar cómo era en ese tiempo. Hoy Apolo es libre de ir y venir por toda la casa, tambien le gusta mucho salir y lamentablemente es un cazador efectivo y letal, asi que debo estar el extra de atenta de que no haga daño a otros animalitos.

With his current temperament I can no longer lay him on my chest or bring my face close to him in this way because it would be too dangerous, but I have these pictures to remember how he was at that time. Today Apolo is free to come and go all over the house, he also likes to go out a lot and unfortunately he is an effective and lethal hunter, so I have to be extra careful that he doesn't hurt other animals.

No se cómo será Apolo en el futuro, si pasara por más cambios, pero si su personalidad de "spicy kitty" resulta que es de por vida no me molesta, igual lo adoro, es parte de la familia y siempre velaremos porque nada le falte, además es muy gracioso ver a un gato de apariencia tan delicada y hermosa con una personalidad de guerrero vikingo.

I don't know how Apollo will be in the future, if he will go through more changes, but if his “spicy kitty” personality turns out to be for life I don't mind, I still adore him, he is part of the family and we will always make sure he will never lack anything, besides it is very funny to see a cat with such a delicate and beautiful appearance with a Viking warrior personality.
