Hello Hello Foodies

Back in June we had the most glorious weather which luckily coincided with Mrs T and I visiting the Orkney Islands on holiday.

Truth be told, I think that spell of hot weather in June is the sum extent of the Scottish summer this year!

However, generally speaking the summer weather can only really mean one thing for me...

Yes ice cream, and this was a 99 that I had in Orkney, their soft vanilla ice cream is just good. The mural is of Highland Park, if you are a whisky lover then you may well recognise the name of the Orcadian malt whisky Highland Park, whilst itself is a superb single malt, is used in many blended whiskies!

That is another Mr Whippy and this time is a double 99! A flake of chocolate makes it a 99. Now luckily for me Mrs T is not a chocolate fan and so I ended with two flakes!

So Mr Whippy is a brand of soft ice cream. Soft ice cream as it contains air I am sure is better for your waist line, but don't hold me to that.

Sometimes we don't have access to somewhere selling fresh soft serve icecream and we have to pull something out of a freezer, such as a Cornetto. This one came with a little flake too! How fluffing cool is that!

Of course having an ice cream is a great way to spend your time when you are being a tourist!

It is not just soft ice creams I like when I am outside.

Whenever I am eating out a restaurant there is no better dessert than icecream.

Why not have it with apple crumble and fresh sliced strawberries...

Yes no chocolate so that dessert belonged to Mrs T.

I on the other hand, have a chocoholic inside me...

So prefer my ice cream with some chocolate cake.

Alternatively it could be ...

on top of a chocolate brownie.

But it is not always being out and about when I like spot of ice cream.

We don't normally eat desserts at home, apart from the odd piece of fruit.

Occasionally the temptation of ice cream is too much ...

Being Scottish our preferred brand is Mackie's of Scotland.

Seriously it just melts in your mouth!

Now then, if I want to spruce up my ice cream at home, then I won't add chocolate!

Hehe nope no chocolate, instead it will be fruit that adds the colour!

I call this my berrylicious ice cream that is served with raspberries and strawberries.

We finish up with my Full Monty comprising a banana some blueberries and my favourite fruit raspberries!!!
