Are you enjoying this long Easter weekend?
I certainly am, it seems that the pandemic is coming to an end in the UK.
This weekend where I live in Kirkcaldy, after an absence of two years, we had the Links Market.
It is where I spent a couple of hours this afternoon checking out the crowds before I go back for a proper gander either tomorrow or Monday, it really depends when the sun comes out.
Our town is called the lang toun or the long town because like the name implies it was a long town built along the seafront. We have an esplanade and a long street called Links street and this section of town where I actually live is called Linkstown.
Anyway to cut a long story short, we have the Links Market which is, drum roll 🥁🥁🥁 please, Europes longest street market.
However, Scotland being Scotland, it might not be the market you are thinking it is.
It is rides, adult rides and children's rides or the carnies, carnivals, fairground.
This sort of thing....
You see a bit of the length and the beach front proximity in this one. Note the big wheel, I want to do that and take some pictures with my new 📷
Being a coffee and tea lover I could not resist having my coffee from this cup! Is this big enough for you people?
Okay so I said I was on a reccy mission. This is only a seven minute walk down from my house as it is along the promenade. It opens at 1pm so I went down this morning just after 12pm.
As I was walking along the market, there were many food places/stalls that had coffee/drinks as an after thought, well I though so anyway.
One place that was not open actually was a coffee place, so I made a mental note to come and grab one on the way back when I knew it would be open.
I won't show any other fairground rides apart from this one.
Would you drink your coffee if you were hanging like this☕🤣
I did have a delicious steak burger, however I am here to talk about the coffee!
There you go, that was the stall that I had passed and I had noticed, even though it was closed up, the "CAFFE LATTE 🖤 CAPPUCCINO 🖤 MOCHA" written on the cascade. At that point there were no blackboards, so I had no clue how much things would cost.
The wee stall was actually called Caffe Gisele and they had an array of fairground attractions to eat.
If I had not just eaten a 1/2 pound steakburger in a brioche bun I would have wolfed down a wee bag of four donuts as they looked damn tasty as he was making them.
The prices were reasonable enough in this day and age, it has been years since I last had a coffee from a fairground or the carnivals and I was hoping that it had improved.
I took the plunge and ordered a Cappuccino.
Would you like chocolate in the Cappuccino? Asked Gisele as she worked her barista magic with the beans.
Too bloody right thought the chocoholic me.
Oh yes please. I replied
The cup was recyclable as was the top, excellent news.
In search of a seat to drink this Cappuccino I headed off down a wee street I knew and watched the view of these nutters flying in the air.
Top off and let the drinking commence!
I'll tell you what! It was might fine, delicious even. In light of where we were and how tasty it was and how polite they were, it was well worth the three pounds fifty.
I can safely say that I have never ever had such a good cup of coffee at the fairground or carnivals before in my life.
When I am back over the next couple of days I shall be having one.
Many thanks for reading if you scrolled down this far. Some of you know I am indeed a coffee and chocolate lover.
Especially for you @coquicoin and
@eylz619 I dedicate this stall that I found, shall I go and win you something from it 🍫😂
