Mr and Mrs Donn had been married for years without any children. Mrs Donn had become a regular visitor to the hospital always going for regular check-ups in case something must have gone wrong somewhere.
She admired her best friend's daughter so much and sobbed whenever the thought of her inability to carry a child in her womb flashed through her mind. She had been bedridden occasionally due to over thinking but always got support and so much care from her loving husband.
She had gotten married to Donn at the age of eighteen though their marriage wasn't supported by her parents because Donn at that time wasn't financially stable. Meg as her real name implies was a rich kid who fell in love with Donn from college.
Donn was always around her to protect her and he was super intelligent, the best basketball player who had won many medals. She never missed any of his matches and so these two got engrossed in each other.
Meg had invited Donn for dinner at her place just so he could meet her parents and get fond of them because they had planned on getting married soon. They didn't want to waste time waiting for each other and so marriage was the only thing that would keep them together so no one misses the other too much.
Her parents had underrated him when they learnt of his family background. Meg was quietly called aside by her mom to tell her that she wasn't ever gonna end up with Donn if she still wanted to remain a daughter of that family.
'But I love him mother!' Meg said almost in tears. 'You're nothing but a child Meg, listen to your mother!' her father cut in from behind 'can't you see he can't take care of you'? You're a beautiful young lady who needs so much care, love and money else you'll wither away, her mother said out loud.
Donn had been eavesdropping and heard almost all they said about him and so he left quietly. Meg cried trying to explain that she sees a great future with him and he's smart and caring too but her parents never cared about it all. Meg dashed out of the house immediately she had figured Donn was gone.
It was late at night but she had to fight for what she wanted. Luckily she found a cab which drove her to Donn's place. She went straight to his room but didn't find him but saw his already packed bags she dashed out of the room in search of him. She looked everywhere for him and finally found him in his backyard trying to put together his things that were left there.
'Where do you think you're going and what do you think you're doing'? Meg asked almost out of breath; she couldn't believe her eyes. She felt like a dreamer and her legs shook with fear.
'All your parents said back there is true I heard everything! I can't take care of you Meg! So you just stay back and have all the rich kid life your parents want for you. For me, I'll have to go do something about myself Donn replied almost in tears. He tried hard to hold back those tears but it seemed like it was flowing down like a river already.
'That's stupid Donn! Very stupid! I love you and you know it! So for the record I'm not going back to my parents I'm staying here with you it's either we travel together or we die together cause I'll kill myself if you leave me' Meg said between breaths.
Donn looked at her and he melted immediately. She had got a very big space in his heart and he couldn't resist her. Meg walked closer to him and they got lost in each other's arms. He carried her back to his room and they made love to each other like never before.
The next day, Meg and Donn moved to Texas. Meg was surprised why Donn had chosen Texas because everything seemed expensive around there but Donn had a little secret he was yet to share with her the night her parents had refused him so he had to keep it and make it a surprise.
Donn took her into the house which looked like a small castle. Meg was still short of words and just didn't want to ask any question. As they went checking the rooms, Donn knelt behind her with a ring in his hands, called her beautiful name and she looked back to see her man on his knees.
'Please marry me' Donn said with so much enthusiasm.
'Umm let me think,' Meg giggled. 'Yes! Yes! I'll marry you' that was the best day of their lives and they kissed for so long before Meg popped the question
'Whose house is this and can you afford it? You know I'll be totally fine anywhere you take me as long as you're with me I'm happy. You're my wealth and I believe in you so much I know you'll do it but please don't rush things okay I'm here for you.
Donn was glad and couldn't let the tears of joy flow down his cheeks that he had met the right woman. 'Okay start talking Mr man Meg said jokingly. 'Yes ma'am Donn replied smiling. 'I got a job and this is the house given to me by the company' remember the job I told you I applied for some time ago'? Donn asked
'oh yeah I do! So you got it '? Oh yes I did baby. I was called to the office just last week. Our flight ticket and everything was issued by the company I wanted to tell you but your parents didn't want you to be with me so I was disappointed and that's why I wanted to leave alone before you came for me.
'I love you Meg Donn said, smiling and staring at the goddess in front of his face, his gaze fixed on her and she smiled back and they kissed once more. That's how their life had been but Meg didn't have a child to call her own and this situation broke her to the core.
One day on her regular visit to see the doctor after having a slight headache, a test was run on her and the result handed over to her with a broad smile from the doctor who said 'congratulations Mrs Donn you're a week heavy'. Meg slumped and when she woke up she found her loving husband by her side as always who promised her heaven and earth.
Meg finally felt complete and sure! A party was thrown in honor of the mother and yet to be born child.
