Her mind constantly went back to what she talked about with her new friend, she liked him already but she knew that she really needs to take things slow, she could not deny the fact that she is a very emotional person who cannot just hide her feelings.

She was glad that he wanted to as well take things slow, he did not call or text too much they just maintained a friendship zone and she was happy about it.
When her Mum found out that she was seeing someone, she was really excited and she said: so when do I get to see him, she said Mum he is just a friend. Her Mum quickly snapped, you better don't give me that friendship thing, at what age do you want to start getting fooled by useless friendship, if the both of you want to get married let us know and if not he should leave you alone to get somebody else for yourself she said: Mum please will you calm down a little bit? I do not want to calm down at all I want to have grandchildren can't you see I am getting old.

The doorbell rang and she quickly went to get it, it was her friend but this timing was not a good one at all, she let him in and said: Mum this is my friend and meet my Mum. Her Mum with a great smile shaked him and welcomed him properly, I m so glad you came in at the right time.
She interrupted and said I thought you had a meeting Mum, it is my meeting her Mum replied I can either decide to go or stay can you excuse us please I want to have a word with your friend. She left the living room angrily as she was not sure of what her Mum will say.
The conversation between her Mum and her friend went thus:
Mum: Son, how are you doing?

Friend: I am doing well Ma.

Mum: My daughter has told me so many things about you and I know you are a good person, but one thing I do not understand is the reason why the both of you have not decided to start a life together because you are both not little kids any more.

Friend: You are very right Ma, but I do not want to rush things with her, she just got out of a painful relationship and I do not wnt to cause more pain. I just want her to get over it properly.

Mum: Thank you my son, but please make it fast since you say you love her show it to her and do not waste time in doing what you need to do and the both of you should settle down and become happy.

Friend: Okay Ma, I will do something about that.
Okay then, let me run along I am almost late for my meeting, please make sure you take good care of my daughter.
