Detoxify Love (an original poetry)

It hurts to see you smile like that
So forced; dunno where it's directed at
You try so hard to hide what's deep inside
Who knows? All the while, it has already died


The depth of your heart feels so numb
In love, how could people be so dumb?
They know the relationship they're in is toxic
But like gum, they continue to stick


Isn't it alright to choose yourself for one?
Let us stop acting like a dunce
We all have a choice; I know that for a fact
But choosing oneself isn't at all a selfish act


Yes, your love blinded you to see reality
But the pain you feel right now is no fantasy
Learn to free yourself from this toxic binding love
Start living freely; start anew and fly, my precious dove

It's poetry time! And the reason I was able to write this piece is another BL comic. lol
Well, it is pretty much relatable in real life though, because there are a lot of people who decided to stay in a toxic relationship because of the so-called "LOVE". I just don't understand why, though.

Anyway, I personally think that choosing yourself isn't selfish. Some people just choose to continue being in a toxic relationship because they are scared to move on. They have long forgotten to be independently in love with their own self. But I can't blame anyone because I don't know their story.

I just hope that more people would see their own value, their self-worth. :)
