I am really fascinated by the moon and the stars at night. Of course, I love starry skies, but sometimes, I just want to see the moon solely brightening the night sky. And so, I painted this kind of scenery.
I used acrylic paint on a canvas pad for this. I don't know why, but I'm really into painting silhouettes and incorporating them with landscapes or scenery that I like. I want to see a scenery like this, but for now, I'd settle with my imagination.
Here are some progress shots of my painting below.
I included some closer shots of the moon. I thought a blue moon would be extra beautiful. I felt calm when painting this. It somehow made me want to just moon gaze... I want to appreciate its beauty. It could be a bit dramatic, but somehow watching the moon allows me to think and relax my mind.
When we didn't have electricity for more than two weeks after the typhoon, I got the chance to appreciate the night sky more. Due to the darkness brought about the absence of electricity, the moon and stars shone brightly. I used to stay out almost until midnight and just stare at the night sky. I consider it one of the perks.
I would definitely want to see the moon and the stars either by the beach or anywhere surrounded by nature. I just miss the feeling of pure bliss. It might be weird for some, but I think it's an awesome feeling.
Oftentimes, we are too pre-occupied and become unaware of the little things around us... they might be taken for granted, but they sure leave a great impact on me.
Anyway, I took a selfie together with my painting.
It's my first painting this year... and I plan to make more in the days to come! I'll definitely find time especially when I start becoming busy from work again. Painting does keep me feel sane.
I hope you enjoyed looking at this work as much as I enjoyed creating it. I want to express myself more through this craft, so I'll continue doing so. I also hope to improve along the way, but more importantly... I want to keep enjoying it. <3
Thanks for checking this post out. Until next time! (_)/
