Hey friends... :)
Since I took a day off today, I decided to make it productive. In the past few months, I've been working near my window. However, in the morning and during the day, there are times when the heat is intolerable. A couple of days ago, I was working as usual when I felt that my hair was being pulled. The heat was too much at that time, and perhaps I wasn't feeling that well, so I was more sensitive.
I took a break and asked my father for help to rearrange my work desk and my bed in my room. Now, my background is the yellow-green wall of my room, and I'm not a huge fan of this color. Hahaha
Changing the paint for the whole room would cost a lot since it's quite big, so I decided to be creative and paint a fake window on the wall. It'll serve as my background for my classes, too. Of course, I can use the virtual background, but I dislike it, especially when I have to show my students something.
I intentionally left some space on the other side because I have some interesting ideas to paint there in the coming days. Anyway, I prepped the wall by adding masking tape around the area where my window would be.
Next, I added white paint as a base color, so the colors I'll be adding would pop more.
I wanted the view to be of a beautiful sky and nature. I'm using my acrylic paint to create this piece.
I just love the blue sky with fluffy clouds. I still can't do Ghibli-style clouds, but it's getting better... my cloud painting is improving somehow... I think? Ahahaha XD
Then, it was around lunchtime when I finished this part. I had to let it dry before I added other details. Acrylic paint dries easily, so I like it. However, if you want to take your time and blend, it'll be a challenge. XD
Yep, I prefer drawing branches to whole trees... besides, this is a window, so seeing branches rather than the whole tree would make it more dramatic. I think you can guess what I'm about to draw... especially when you've seen my artwork before. hahaha
Yep... my obsession with Cherry Blossoms. I've never seen one in person, but I've always thought they're beautiful. Since I can't see one in my area, I'll just paint it on my wall and stare at it from my fake window. haha
After completing the details, I took out the masking tape around it so I could start with the window frame. However, the old paint cracked. hahaha So weak... XD But here's the advantage of using paint... You can always paint over! :P
The side frames are done, but leaving it like this would make it seem like a framed painting rather than a window, so let's transform it even more. :)
Now, that's a window!!! And no, I'm not putting up any curtains because the view outside is so beautiful! ahaha Yeah, I'm biased. :) I actually like it... It's simple, but peaceful to look at. :)
And since I'm proud of it, I added my signature in the corner. It's been a while since I last painted something, and the first one I make turned up to be a fake window with a view. It's quite big, actually, so my back was screaming every so slightly when I finished it. LOL
Ohhh, cool background! XD
Don't mind my face... my back was aching; I look haggard... but I still smile, or at least I try to. hahaha
And with that, my fake window is complete... I can't wait to paint more random stuff on my bedroom wall. haha I'm excited to see my students' reaction when they see it, especially my regular students who miss my art wall from the old house. Haha
Anyway, I'll end this post here. Thanks for checking it out! See you around! (^^,)/
