I drew this portrait as an exploration of quiet strength, the kind that does not need to announce itself.
I wanted the face to feel lived-in, not perfect. Every line, shadow, a deliberate stroke carries a small trace of character. The eyes became the emotional centre of the piece for me, they hold a sense of awareness, reflection, and perhaps of the pen strokes to remain visible because I wanted the drawing to feel human rather than overly polished.
