Happy New Year Art Lovers. So here's my first Art of 2023, well technically, I started last year, but finished a couple hours ago. This piece was inspired and birthed off the idea of the drug, Ecstasy and the reality of its use and use of other pleasure induced drugs. Plainly, it describes the effect of drug induced pleasure on humans. In this piece, I represented the drugs with balloons and they have different colours because the drug, ecstasy comes in different colours.
From a quick look, one would see people tied to balloons lifting them in the sky, which portrays the feeling if being high. The body language of these people tied to these balloons describes the feeling of most people before they resort to drugs on pursuit of pleasure.
A closer look however would show you other possibilities of being tied to drug, for example one could see a people falling and crashing back to the ground and this represents the state after the drugs wear off. They're no longer attached to the drugs and they are falling back to their reality and perhaps would feel so much worse than they did before indulging the drugs.
A much closer look would also show how the drug somewhat looks like its ending the lives of some of its users and this is the reality with drug abuse and overdose.
I used a pink coloured cloud and sky for this piece and also rainbows to depict an ecstatic and happy environment but might end up creating a gif image with hue rotator.
This piece was created using the scribble technique on the autodesk sketchbook app. I hope you love it.
