Crypto Adoption : Dubai School Welcomes Tuition Fee Payment In Bitcoin And Ethereum
And yet another adoption of cryptocurrencies and blockchain as a Dubai school (Citizen School) for children welcomes payment of tuition fee via crypto with Bitcoin and Ethereum as their current options . This may have been happening already elsewhere but it's the first time I'll be hearing of a school publicly announcing their adoption for cryptocurrencies as a means of payment.
I learnt about this today just a few hours after discussing with a colleague about how cryptocurrencies and blockchain tech could be integrated into the education system as a way of learning, storing students data, paying school fees and having examinations.
It sounded like a big deal to him and not something that could happen easily but I understand his point of view especially since he resides in a country that has declared war on cryptocurrencies.
Payment of Tuition fee is just the first step. I believe involving children with cryptos and blockchain directly or indirectly would have some form of positive impact on their learning and future as they're tomorrow's leaders, investors and entrepreneurs.
Areas of education I'd really want to see integrated into crypto and blockchain tech are the aspects of classworks, assignments and exams. Exposing the younger generation to blockchain at a tender age is a sure way of allowing them explore and get creative with the blockchain tech.
This move by a school in the middle East shows we're ushering into an era where cryptocurrencies and blockchain would be used in every sector of the economy. It can only be delayed, but inevitable.
Dubai is well known for their embrace of technology and innovation so this isn't very surprising but is a good news for crypto. United Arab Emirates has publicly showed support for the crypto and digital currency revolution and so this move by a school isn't short of expectations.
