Our society promises us that the most is the way to be followed in particular when this can be accounted for, such as money, possessions or the rungs of your professional career.
Sometimes however, accumulating more simply is not going to help you. For example: if you are in a career that you do not like, every step you take to get to the top of that race will be taking you more and more in the wrong direction. You are not getting happier.
Other times although having more may seem good at first, it is not really a solution to the underlying problems. If you are addicted to gambling, it is possible to believe that all you need to be happy is more money ... but the more you get, the more you will play.
On a more daily level, if you earn more money you can move to a bigger house with better furniture but you will also end up paying more for home insurance, maintenance, etc. You will also stay long hours working just to keep up with your new lifestyle.
Even if you achieve the dream of "becoming a millionaire", you may find yourself dissatisfied: cutting with old friends, facing new annoyances, worries, etc.
People assume that if you have accumulated money then you have achieved it using some unworthy way or that you are a miser, both are negative stereotypes.
