I was never interested in dog racing, until I got into crypto. Seeing Shiba Inu catch up so quickly on Dogecoin while Dogecoin is acting more akin to a stablecoin, is quite thrilling.

I was undecided about buying into Shiba Inu for some time. I don’t see the actual point of Shiba Inu, except being a meme coin that rode on the success of its more famous cousin Dogecoin. Then I read something that Porwest wrote a few weeks ago which convinced me to pull the trigger.

So I bought 1,500,000 SHIB. If it would moonshot to even as little as one penny, I’d make a very large profit on my very small investment. And on the other hand, if Shiba Inu flatlines and fades into obscurity, I would only have lost $25. The risk-reward analysis checks out for me and my situation. This should be viewed as a gamble and not as an investment.

I feel that I have to add that I believe that the chance of Shiba Inu reaching one penny is as likely as Elon Musk finding little green men on Mars when his rockets land there. Slim to none, with a heavy weighting towards none. But a player plays the game, and if I don’t play the possibility to win is null.

This could be argued to be FOMO, and I might not even disagree. I choose to view it slightly different, but yes. I’d feel stupid knowing the random power of memecoins, considering Shiba, then not investing and seeing it rocket beyond belief.

Instead of buying lottery tickets for thirty years and never winning anything more than a few hundred dollars, like my father has done, I invest tiny amounts in upcoming speculative coins and hope for the big win. The methods are different, but the results might very well be the same in the end.

As stated, I have a hard time seeing Shiba Inu going to one penny. But that was the same thing as many investors said about Dogecoin. It’s practically quite hard to predict which microcap might actually go to the moon, but out of all microcaps, Shiba Inu might rise high simply due to social fun factors and meme compatibility. In my not-financial-advice opinion. I view this $25 as gone for good, and if Shiba Inu goes to the moon, it’ll be a happy surprise for me.

I know there is a great deal of animosity between the Dogecoin camp and the Shiba Inu camp. I’m not here to claim that one is better than the other or to step on any toes. And I get that simply not taking a strong preference might upset a few. That is not my intention.

At the end of the day I’m looking to make money on my investments, and if some positive social change and some fun can be had along the way, that’d be just peachy.

Which one do you think will come out as the top dog a year from now?
