Well what an experience Hivefest was!
My first time at a virtual conference, here's me in the lobby area - and as an extra bonus I was able to customise my avatar with this summery looking shirt...
... not too far off something I would wear in real life, especially right now while I'm on my challenge to extend Summer!
The badges were especially cool - clicking on them provided various useful features - I used it to record meetings, and also to email me the reminders to follow people that I met and wanted to check out on Hive later - neat!
Here are some good friends I bumped into - none other than the @stickupboys (in grey) themselves and
@ministickupboy (in all black) too!
It was great to have a proper chat with @steevc who introduced me to several people including @Yidneth and
@adetorrent both in this picture...
@Yidneth is a fellow musician and we had a good chat about the best ways to reach our audience, especially coming out of the pandemic. We talked about our experiences of streaming during lockdown and about the different channels and the challenges with some of them.
Lovely to meet all of you!
I was also interviewed by @cmmndrbawang live on his stream! If I'd known that was going to happen I'd have prepared more of a speech! Still - super cool.
As for the official talks on the main stage, due to family commitments I wasn't able to attend a whole load of them but I caught several - and will be catching up on several more when they are made available for replay.
Overall though there was a strong feeling of development across the Hive ecosystem - lots happening, lots moving forward and generally lots of confidence that Hive is the right place for me to be.
Thanks to everyone involved in making Hivefest happen - from where I stand it was a great success and I'm looking forward to next year!
