I was trying to think of a subject to write about today that might get some attention or love if you will. I was scrolling through my blogs as well as some other's blogs and posts, and something came to my mind; this is a real popular place and there are some pretty stellar posters and bloggers out there. So I went back through my account and started thinking, "Ok, what can I do to attain the skills and attention that others are getting?" I almost thought about not posting tonight, but then as I looked through my account, I say to myself, "Dude, you're a minnow. You've been posting for less than a week. Sure, you've had your account open for a little over a month and now you're just starting to use the resources you have access to. You're not a quitter, and besides that, if you quit because you feel defeated, you are going against everything you believe in." Then a story came to mind. This gentleman, another great influence in my story, told a story once about a football coach of a team, who had explained to his team after their first loss of the season, losing is like anything else. If you do it enough, you become real good at it.
At first, I thought the story was kind of strange. But then I started thinking about it, the first time I heard it, and it really made sense. So the reason I write about it here is that when I thought about not posting, it's really quitting to a certain extent. I mean, you are already here, why don't you be productive? I have always heard that there is a perfect time and place for everything. As I have lived my life through the high times and low times, one thing is certain. I have learned a tremendous amount in all of the highs and the lows.
I used to find myself saying this next line a lot; "Wow, so and so should have been here to hear that!" The perfect place and time exists with every breath we take. I had to learn that when those moments occur where "So and so should have been here or there", everybody who needed to hear what needed to be said or felt, was already there. I mentioned the word "felt" because emotions are directly tied to the words or actions we experience at any given time.
Have you ever heard the phrase "The Living Word"? I have heard it a lot and it usually is referring to the Bible, "God's Living Word". If you've never read the bible, but have read any book multiple times on any subject matter, you will notice that there are certain parts that change from the last time you read them. The evidence of this is when you read and certain passages have special meaning to you, you find yourself making notes or underlining the passage. Then when you read the book again and you look at the underline you think to yourself, "I don't remember why this is underlined." However, you find something else that has significant meaning to you at the time and you underline again. This is my definition of the Living Word, it changes based on your current circumstances.
So the next time you feel like quitting, remember that you are not only influencing your thoughts, but others are not getting the chance to hear something they desperately need to hear. Be selfless with your posts, think of others, because maybe, just maybe, their life depends on it! Stay Strong, Press On and Charge the Hill!
Passionate about your dreams,
