Statue of Liberty

I promised someone on here to get some shots of the Statue of Liberty and right now I forget who that was, but I did get some shots of it, but never got around to editing them till this past weekend, so sorry it took so long.

These shots were taken in Battery park right at the lower tip of Manhattan

The statue which is often just called the Statue of Liberty, is actually entitles the *The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World8 and was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924. Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933.

I have been planning on taken a ride on the Staten Island ferry, which is one of the few free things in NYC, to get some closer in shots of it, but haven't got around to doing that yet with being fairly busy and the shorter days of winter, and with only two weeks left working inthe city not sure I will get to do that, but here is a shot of the Ferry.

This shot of the ferry was taken one morning when I went to catch the Staten Island Ferry but just as the ferry was approaching I got an email invite to an urgent meeting and had to skip the idea of taking a ride on the ferry and head to the office.

Another shot of the Statue of Liberty, well I say a shot of the Statue but more the view from Battery Park with the Statue in shot

Another way to get slower to the Statue or onto the island on which it stands is to take the Ferry to the island or ride the water taxis around manhattan, both of which I have done a few years ago, and this shot shows a couple of the water taxis
