One day when I took a walk on the Harbor walk here in New Bedford
as I got near the end of it by the Cisco breweries Restaurant I noticed this crane which I thought was on land and wondered what the restaurant was adding to their outside area, so I snapped a shot of it from this view point

and by the stage it became clear to me the crane wasnt on land at all

As you can see in the next photo it was on some sort of platform tied up to the pier at the back oof the Cisco breweries property.
now I am not sure exactly what it is for, I wondered if it was some sort of drilling platform with those long poles at the other end of the platform, but I am not sure that's right, so if anyone has any idea what it does I would love you to let me know
I like how the color of the platform of the crane stands out on the otherwise muted colors.

I would have loved to walk out on the pier and take a closer look and try to work out what it was, but they had it roped off, which I am now thinking i could probably have easily stepped over it, but perhaps I am to much into respecting where things are roped off lOL
Looking at these photos it looks like there are some sort of pulleys at the top of those poles, which only makes me more intrigued what it does.
