Walking to and from the Museum Of Natural history

Today started off a nice morning about 55 F when I got to the city and only light rain I thought that wasn't to bad as I wanted to stop into the Apple Store in Grand Central to pick up a new phone the iPhone 11 Pro, now before you thinkI am getting carried away buying things for myself I have an excuse this time, I did not plan t upgrade my phone but our Daughter in Law when thinking I would suggested as our youngest grand daughter would be needing a phone soon as she will be on the bus to school on her own soon, why not I get the new one, give my now old phone ( which isnt that old its an iPhone XS, to the oldest Grandson, his iPhone 8 would go to the next grandson, and his IPhone 6 would then go to the grand daughter, so really I didnt get a new phone for myself just to help out the grandkids LOL yes I know thats sounds dubious but it is true and I didnt resist for long to get myself a new phone LOL

Now after a meeting this morning I setup the new phone, so my steps for today don't count about 5K Steps I did before upgrading my phone.

So my activity today other than my normal to and from the office came from a second visit to the Apple store in Grand Central to get a screen protector which I forgot to get on the first visit.

And I decided today that since by mid-morning the temps had dropped down to close to freezing and with the wind in the city the real feel even lower that I would get my steps today by doing a isnt to the Natural History Museum, which I haven't visited for over a decade, so I walked to 47th Street and 6th Ave and caught the subway up to 81st Street and the museum, here is the subway I cam out of

And here I am in the queue to get a ticket, I must say I was pleasantly surprised the queue was short and moved pretty quickly

They have a butterfly exhibit at the moment so I paid the $5 extra to visit it, I had planned to get some shots in there with my camera but it was so humid in there the lens kept gfogging up but i did take a bunch with my phone, some came out rally well, and I will no doubt do a sewerage post of the butterflies sometime, but since I mentioned them here is one shot of one in there

Walking through the pacific Island portion of the Museum, I was glad to see they had a section onthe Maoris( the indigenous people in New Zealand) including this shot of a Storehouse, if you even visit New Zealand, doif you can visit a Marie ( a community of Maori properties) sort of like a community centre, and you will see a full size one of these

And a section of the museum many got to see and what I was looking forward to seeing again the most, the big Dinosaur Skeletons on display

Another display, I realized i didnt taken any photos with my Phone of the bird section, but lets hope my camera shots came out OK I really liked that hall

And yet another display I do like how they have then displayed with a background representative of where they can be found

At first I thought they had photos of me in this display but them i cleaned my glasses and saw what it actually was

And on the way back to the office I passed by the Rockefeller Centre and saw they have the new Tree up covered with scaffolding as they add all the lights and pending its official opening on the 4th of December

And apart from slipping in a little bit or boring and mundane work that was my day
