A walk around Milford

Today I wasn't planning on going for much of a walk, I was thinking taking it easy today and staying at home would be good to give my foot a chance to heal, but it was such a beautiful day.

The sun was shining which reminded me I should get some sunblock which I try to remember to use whenever I am out walking in the sun with the history of skin damage I have had, so I thought why not just walk downtown and pick some up, So here are some shots of the walk.

This is one of our City Fire Stations on New Haven Avenue,

Then I continued on past the Memorial Walkway by Lisman Landing, I know it looks desertered, but i just got lucky at this time with no one walking along the pathway, just after I took this shot a group of about 6 people started walking up there.

As I crossed the bridge over the water, it was good to see the Docks or berths were full, its that time of year every weekend all these berths will be full with boats,

And now I pass the tennis courts totally empty at this time, its not often I walk by them in the middle of the day often in the evenings I will see many playing there.

And now walking through downtown I passed my favorite shop, of course it is a camera shop, and in fact it was an advert for this shop that brought us to discover Milford and soon after move here, I was heading on a trip a few years back, and my camera bag ripped as I was loading it into the car, and I remember seeing the sign on the highway for Milford Photo, so I said lets see if we can make it there before they close at 8 PM and buy a new bag, which we did and then as we were driving through the downtown area heading back to the highway we both said at the same time this place is so charming, so we stopped on the way back and talked to a real estate agent and a few weeks later moved here.

It was closed so I didn't have to resist going in and checking it out today, but I purposely skipped walking by the Ice Cream Shop as I know I would have been to tempted to grab one.

Further on the walk I went past St Peters Church and snapped this shot

My Walk took me past city hall, and the statue of the soldier seemed fitting to get a shot of sinc eit is Memorial Day weekend.

So my short walk, wasn't to long but also wasn;t to short either at just under 2 miles, and guess what, I forgot to walk to the Pharmacy and get sunblock which was my whole reason for the walk.
