Yesterday, 
Personally, I found this interview to be very enlightening. My notion was that this tribe is simply about a niche market in music, providing a place for people to gather and discuss their favorite genre.
I can tell you this is only the tip of the iceberg.
This team has bigger plans, much bigger. They want to use their token, JAHM, as a unit of exchange throughout the entire island of Jamaica.
Certainly, having big plans is nothing new except for the fact this team appears to be implementing some of their vision. They have contacts through the tourism board and discussions with the Jamaican stock exchange about different ideas they have.
Jamaica is a trendsetter for many of the countries in the Caribbean. What happens there tends to filter throughout the entire region. Hence, we could see this become much bigger than just one island.
While nothing is for certain and we will have to watch what this group does, I feel there is a big lesson in this. Many of us can point to our favorite tribes, ones we feel have the most potential. This is evidenced by the fact that we load up on a particular token by selling projects we are not as enthusiastic about.
All this leads to an adjustment of our Steem-Engine wallets, amassing tokens in the tribes we are deeply involved with, hence optimistic about the future.
With somewhere around 50 different tribes, it is impossible for any individual to know what is taking place with them all. That is why a show like Pennsif's is informative. That said, it does show how something might not be as it appears.
While the JAHM token is centered around reggae and the culture, the vision is for something much bigger. They are targeting Jamaica's biggest industry, tourism. Through agreements with hotels, they seek to get the token accepted as a medium of exchange. They also look to provide continuity throughout the country via this token.
Hopefully the team can pull of what they are seeking to do. However, if I asked everyone to list the top 5 tribes with the greatest chance to make a huge difference on Steem, how many would have named Reggaesteem?
The point is this project was floating under the radar to most people yet has a plan that could certainly impact this ecosystem in an enormous way. My question is what other tribes are following a similar path? i guess we all will have to keep tuning into to the show each week to find out. Nevertheless, this is showing the power of what is taking place on Steem.
Many feel that the adoption of cryptocurrency would take place at a faster pace outside the major economic centers. In countries such as the United States, Japan, and the UK, the pain level for the majority of the people simply is not high enough. Most people are comfortable to a degree. This makes the inclination to change less likely.
The same is not true in the areas of the world where there is a lot of struggle. When local economies (and the people along with it) suffer, they suddenly become open to new ideas. Crypto-economics is an idea that can certainly change how an area operates. It provides people with opportunities that did not exist before.
Is Jamaica going to be one of the leading countries in cryptocurrency adoption? I have no idea. That said, on the show, 
All this shows the tentacles of Steem and how they are expanding. This is key to understanding the nature of decentralization. Our entire platform is voluntary. Thus, we see a bunch of people getting together based around different topics or ideas and developing things. They are operating independent of anyone else, requiring no permission or approval. Ultimately, none of us can say with absolute certainty which communities are going to excel while making the major breakthroughs.
What is powerful is there are now 50 tribes who are just like Reggaesteem. Some might have little vision while others are crystal clear. The bottom line is, whatever success is achieved, helps Steem.
And, playing the numbers game, the likelihood of a breakthrough is increased with more communities. Hence, as things keep growing, so do the chances of success.
It ultimately becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I hope everyone is getting more excited about Steem's future. It keeps getting brighter.
