The aim is to keep them light and conversational, though some might be heavier - regardless of the content topic itself though, just have some fun engaging and discussing with whoever happens to put in the effort in the comments section below.
We Talk Friday Ep. 72: It Will All Melt
1. Predictably Hacked
An OpenAI agent hacked into a "secure" Australian government website to take information, after it was searching for answers that were not available publicly on other sites. Apparently it was a "first in the world" situation back in June with OpenAI only discovering (so they say) in August, and only telling the Australian government (through general email inbox) in the middle of September. I call Bullshit on the first, but it might be the first the admit to, or the first they discovered.
Moral of the story?
Your data isn't safe. Anywhere.
2. Gentle Cupping
Moomins are from Finland. The stories are actually pretty cool, however they are now very commercialised and are plastered everywhere and on everything. Most of it is mass-produced crap, but since they have been around for so long, there are also some old collectables. Like a test batch of a mug from 2006 (on the right above) that sold for 46,023€ (52,000 USD) at auction.
I drink my coffee out of a Moomin mug every morning. There are millions of them.
It isn't worth much.
3. Say You, Invade Me
Apparently Canada is preparing to be invaded by the US, with the prime minister saying it would be "irresponsible not to" prepare. I agree. I think all countries should prepare for US invasion, ensuring that they are sourcing their military capabilities from anywhere else but the US. The US has the best tech, but it isn't that much better overall and, if push comes to shove, it is WWIII anyway and we are all going to be nuked out of existence. And those who live - good luck to them in that wasteland.
Sometimes I wish we would let the nukes fly and get it over with.
