I am trying to catch up with things now and it looks like there has been some further pumping into HIVE - great. It would have been nice to be a part of it, but unfortunately - my internet connections were cut for half the day, as were my wife's. Home 4G (which has been terrible so far) and both sim cards in my phone, one being for my work and on a different network provider. Unfortunately, even though on a different provider, it seems that they were leveraging the same lines. I wonder how much this would have cost if I was seriously trading?

It is what it is and despite the issues, I still take the approach that the technology we have access to in this world is pretty incredible and I try to remind myself that I grew up without the internet - or a computer. I was late into the game of computing, due to the kinds of parents I had - poor. Yes, they had other skills, but often technology at that time was kind of like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" - if parents weren't interested in technology, it just wasn't bought. The message that, "computers are the future" didn't reach my parent's ears.

Even without the internet for about 6 hours, I survived. - it was hard - and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

I rely on the internet for a lot of things in my life and it was interesting to note things like, we had to drive to the hardware store to check if it was open, in a car that forced me to listen to the radio, instead of Spotify. Of course, I couldn't post and answer comments - and this was annoying as the internet was sporadically coming back for a couple seconds and I was getting notifications - but rarely long enough to do anything with.

But the day was not a complete loss, the neighbors invited us over for a barbecue (our first for the season - and it snowed) and we sat around and talked about a lot of random things eating grilled food, some wine and beer and a blueberry pie my wife made. It was really nice and I am looking forward to doing more of this in the upcoming months and years.

It is strange to be living in a place where I am looking forward to seeing the neighbors as at our apartment building, they were mostly old, sick or long-term unemployed - most of them were racist. I am sure that it is also going to get a bit weird over time as we will get to know people so well (my wife and the wife next door have been best friends for 30+ years) in the area, but probably get on each other's nerves from time to time. Part of living in the burbs?

I have tried to catch up on the comments (I try to reply to most) and will now have to go and burn a little VP before I get into bed or perhaps - watch a movie. Tomorrow will be a day of destroying more walls and ripping up a floor so that next week the plumber can come in and have a look what he is going to be dealing with. One of the great things about the demolition work is, the results are seen very, very fast. It is going to take a little longer to see the renovation come together though.

Out of my own curiosity:

  • How was your day?
  • Are you happy with your trades?
  • How does the rise in HIVE price make you feel?
  • Feeling some FOMO?
