Are so many people making claims now?
Well, apparently yes, since Keychain offers an account autoclaim feature that I had no idea about. I have forgotten to claim for weeks before checking today, so that is handy. But, it does raise the question as to who is claiming and what those accounts are going to be used for in the future.
at some point, I envisage having "account liquidity pools" that applications can draw on and all LPs will get a relative cut from the proceeds in the form of a yield. This means that applications would always have an available source for accounts, if they don't have enough HP for their own or they have the positive problem of too many signups. I think it would be good to have additional incentives to hold a bit more HP - of course, it would also be reliant on account demand too.
Resource Credit Pools would also come into play with this, where a liquidity pool of RCS could be created to be paired with account creation. This way, an account like mine could keep thousands of accounts interacting with the chain, and there could also be "hot seats" involved where people can get them as they log in, rather than hold onto them eternally.
Would be nice if "too many signups" was a problem, and while you want to be ready for it, perhaps the scarcity factor of not being able to get an account easily might actually make it more desirable for many. It would also mean that perhaps those who do have account tokens would be in demand - rather than just being those nerds who think Hive is going somewhere.
I have a few I have been saving for a sunny day. I am not sure when that day will come, but with the right turn of events, it could happen very fast. By the way, a long time ago there was a podcast platform being created - was that ever released? With all this Joe Rogan stuff going on, it would be good if Hive had podcast alternative platform that could be skinned as standalone or integrated into existing podcast platforms, whilst protecting those accounts in some way from demonetization from a centralized platform.
Hopefully with the new Hive Application Framework (HAF) coming out at some point, developers will pick up the ball and run with it, providing some innovative solutions for the people yet to join the blockchain. Often there is development for those already around, but with the growing interest in the industry, I think the companies that are looking further ahead to provide for the arrival of a few billion people onto the blockchains, will do well.
Sometimes I try to imagine what it would be like for me to join Hive now or come into crypto at all, and it is incredibly hard. There are so many gateways into crypto all over the place and each one is going to send a person down a different path. This is good, but I am not sure given my current condition of mind, if I would get a handle on it anymore. But then at the same time, a lot of things are easier too. Would I just be on the markets - or would I be here writing every day?

There is more to it than just "bought more cheap tokens" for me and looking back, I am unsure if I would be able to muster the energy to have the writing groove I still hold today. I am not the same person I was then, nor am I in the same life state I was then - so things would likely change. But I wonder, would I then miss out on discovering my love for writing?
It is one of those things about imagining going back in time, as we still feel like all the upside components we currently have will remain intact. But, since we can't go back in time, it doesn't really matter. I have done what I have done, have what I have and live as I live. All I can do is go forward from here, knowing what I already know and learning more of what I can tomorrow.
While the reputation number on Hive is meaningless for the platform interface, it does hold some meaning for me, because I know what it has taken to reach it.
And my knees are clean.
