one jab in the arm every two weeks beats the hell out of 4 or 5 times a day of poking my finger or palm.
I am sure.
When Smallsteps was born, she was in intensive care for almost two weeks because her blood sugar was very low and instable, getting the blood test in her tiny little toes 5 times a day. We had to do it at home for months also. I wonder what effect this has had on her unconsciously. She is on a diabetes watch list and is part of a large study that follows her progress, but thankfully the checkups are now yearly.
the pill (metformin) did nasty things to my mind and body so having to give myself the shots is not to bad at all.
The psychological effects of many of these medications are barely talked about, yet most can be quite severe. People tend to worry about whether they gain weight, or their skin is bad - but seem to not care that their brain functions poorly and they feel like crap mentally. I have had some pretty bad psychological side effects to medication, but also because I have a thyroid problem, which went undiagnosed for over a decade with doctors saying that I was just depressed and my memory going was old age - I was in my mid-twenties at the time...
Two or three minutes of gripping your teeth, soft cursing under your breath for a few seconds, then it passes.
:D
Sounds like fun!!
