My first experience with having to give myself shots in the stomach was about 20 years ago when I needed to give myself B12 shots. For a month every day I had to give myself a shot.

With diabetes, I was supposed to do the finger prick thing and test my blood sugars 5 times a day when I was first diagnosed. That only lasted me for about 3 months. It hurt, it still hurts when I need to do the finger prick to test my blood sugars. I am very grateful fir the 14 day Libre blood monitor, one jab in the arm every two weeks beats the hell out of 4 or 5 times a day of poking my finger or palm.

This year I had to start giving myself insulin shots in the stomach. In the morning two different shots and then tow more shots about 6 hours apart. I sometimes miss and hit muscle, and it hurts when that happens, I also sometimes do not get under the skin but in the skin and get a bubble and then a bruise. It is not as bad as it sounds, the pill (metformin) did nasty things to my mind and body so having to give myself the shots is not to bad at all.

It may take a little time to get used to the shots, but you will. There will still be times you cause yourself some pain from the shots, but at least the pain is shorter lasting than stubbing your big toe on something. Two or three minutes of gripping your teeth, soft cursing under your breath for a few seconds, then it passes.

I hope it works out for you and helps.
