Well, I wasn't quite right.
I have been predicting an assassination attempt for the last four to six months, but my narrative was incorrect. I assumed it was going to be an attempt on Biden, which would have given him the out he needed whilst still saving face, and given the momentum of support to the democrats, no matter who they put forward. It seems that the momentum is now going to firmly swing in the other direction instead, especially with all the iconic photos that have emerged.
It is all a farce.
All of it.
I am not talking about the conspiracies and whatnot, but politics in general. It is a sideshow, devalued in importance when it comes to decision-making, but highly-valued as entertainment. Politics isn't about policy, it is about personality, and has been becoming increasingly so over the last few decades. It feels a bit like a massive bull market, where the green line hockeysticks rapidly, just before the top blows off and craters into a volcano.
Politics should be boring.
No one agenda'd group has all the answers, so it means that it should run more like a company, where the people filling roles might change depending on performance and needs of the time, but as a whole the entity stays the same. This idea of essentially firing administration people every few years because some personality or another got elected, is stupid.
The administration shouldn't be there to support a side, they should be there to support the processes that lead to better outcomes for the people they are meant to be serving. They shouldn't be serving the president or prime minister, they should be serving the citizens. If things were really working well in government, there wouldn't be need for a president at all, would there? Each function would be working and doing its hob, communicating with other functions and aligning to the needs of the people the best they can, based on the resources available.
There should be discussion in government on what is the best way forward, not competition.
There are so, so many things wrong with the governance structures employed globally, and while people spend their time supporting one side or another, they are missing the real issues. the volatility we are seeing in the world at all levels of things that are important to us, are caused by the government mechanisms that look to optimize themselves above others, for more power and control. They have convinced their supporters that they are the ones to do this and if they get the support, there will be spread of power, but it is all lip service, as everything is done to consolidate power.
Wherever you are, your country might be the most powerful of all, but at the end of the day, do you have more power as an individual because of it? This is a pertinent question to consider, because if the answer is no, your government is using your support to monopolize power for themselves, pretending that they will transfer some to you, like in a trickle down economy.
Trickle down economy doesn't work.
It is a load of shit. More wealth in the hands of the wealthy doesn't mean that they will spend more on goods and services to share wealth to lower levels, it means that they have more wealth to invest into mechanisms that generate them more wealth, without having to risk it touching the hands of those below at all.
That is why there is an increasing wealth gap.
And what we are doing simultaneously is creating an increasing power gap. Not because the governments are taking more power, but because while we spend our efforts fighting against and supporting the personalities of governments, the wealthy keep on consolidating wealth into fewer hands, and that is where the power lays. In short order, we are likely to see far more signs of where corporations are the ones driving policy, not the politicians.
And they are even more dangerous.
Because, corporations aren't alive, and they never die. The only way to get rid of them is to stop supporting them, which defunds them. However, we aren't likely to do that because we are consumer driven and the defining need is convenience. It is too inconvenient to defund the corporations we rely on to serve us easy of use and entertainment, so we instead play the game of personality politics, pretending that if our side wins, it is going to make a difference.
It is not.
Because whether you believe it or don't, the president is powerless, because their position relies on popularity, not proficiency, or ability to get things done that matter. When things get hard, their popularity will wane and they will be replaced by the next popular face, who also does nothing. There is no "most powerful person in the world" because at the end of the person given that title doesn't make the decisions. Because if they decided to change the system away from profit-seeking and onto wellbeing-seeking,
They wouldn't be allowed.
