I think that no one is 100% good or bad, but depending on the situation and influence on ones life, people can change their attitude or purpose. I've seen people who had good intentions later on turn into power hungry people. I guess it's hard to tell what one will be like, until they are actually in the situation. I find it fascinating to see how our Steemit ecosystem works. It's kinda like a big social experiment of real life. -

This is a comment on a post of mine about Power and Corruption
Because of the financial reward possible at Steemit, the ecosystem here mimics real life more closely than other social platforms and because of the blockchain technology, it is largely transparent. In time, we will be able to process millions of transactions across the network and see trends and how groups or certain people affected them, as well as a whole range of other behaviours.
In the walking world there are many types of claims made about ones behaviour but what is continually uncovered is that there is a massive gap between the public and private personas. There are so many interactions that go unseen or, unlogged that it makes hindsight foggy at best. We see the private lives of celebrity and politician unravel on our screens almost daily now.
But, in the blockchain future is the same going to happen? Are those who are claiming to support the platform actually doing so, are those who are seen as tyrants really so bad, are actions seen as useful now going to be discovered as harmful later or vice versa?
Because of the Steemit ecosystem, perhaps we will be able to discover better ways to manage the real world as we will have the chance to systematically sort through the information and gather all of the data (connected to the blockchain) and model how it flowed through the system and how it affected by strengthening or weakening of various points.
This is an experiment with possibly very large repercussions for future planning of societies. Perhaps how we tackle greed or manage inequalities will discover solutions that are applicable to a larger community in the real world. We face many of the same issues that the globalised world faces and all of our information is transparent and the more members joining, the more relevant the data becomes.
We will see what happens when a few people hold the majority of the cards, how cronyism affects numerically or if an altruistic stance has the desired impacts on the community. We are all part of this now and will be part of the information extracted. What will your pathways uncover?
In hindsight will people track your behaviours and see a vastly different you than claimed publicly, one that was harmful rather than helpful? Or will they uncover you as someone that was silently and studiously working away day in day out with little reward?
Will they be able to see where the community really lays and which groups and fields affected positively or negatively? Will they be able to determine who generated more value in the system than they extracted, who provided more than they ate? What will these things tell us?
Perhaps we will better be able to target the true leaders of the future, not the ones that just sell a good story, identify the real creators rather than the repackagers and see who consistently is a builder, and who is stealing the bricks and blocks.
As more and more interactions get written to the blockchain across an expanding range of areas and diversities of people, the data is going to get very interesting indeed. The potential to send blockchain isotopes through the system and mine for a whole range of core and subsets of behaviours is enormous.
Maybe we will fail at this miserably. Perhaps we will be unable to solve the problems we face and be unable or unwilling to overcome all of the issues we have. Fail to integrate all of the different positions that must be considered and adjusted to make a decentralised system stable enough to be healthy.
Even if this happens, the data we gather will have inherent value, the blockchain may hold secrets to correction so the next attempt is better than our own. Our immutable blockchained history, may very well nudge the future directions of humanity.
